There are some lovely buildings in Sheffield, many of them 'works'. Space Works is based in Harland Works, next to Clifton Works, behind Portland Works and adjacent to Stag Works. Th eone above is not near us, but it is such a lovely name and sign.
When we opened Space Works we felt we were building on the tradition of offering a rented place to work for independent small businesses, just like the almost extinct Little Mesters. It works well and we are developing plans to develop what we offer, so that when you work in our Works you feel like you are part of something bigger. The economic climate is tough and we all need a range of support to help our businesses survive/thrive. So events and workshops that are fun and useful will be were we will be foucsing, making use of the newly rejuvenated cafe euro.
